Roberto Baggio profile:
Roberto Baggio missed penalty in the finals of 1994 world cup against Brazil. 27-year old Baggio who took Italy to finals with splendid displays and goals suddenly became villain with that penalty. But, Italian football fans may never forget Baggio.
Country: Italy
Born in 1967 in Cldogno
Series A: First played for Florentina and they moved to Juventus. He also played for AC Milan, Bologna and Inter Milan.
Favourite hobby: Hunting
Nicknames: Divine Ponytail and Raphael of football
Robert Baggio records:
1. Baggio is the only Italian to score goals in 3 world cups (1990, 1994 and 1998).
2. He was the first Italian to win golden ball (5 goals in 1994 world cup)
Memorable moment: 2 crucial goals in dyeing moments against Nigeria in 1994 world cup.
Bad moment: Missing penalty in finals of 1994 FIFA world cup.
My opinion: Baggio might have been achieved much more if he played in Spain. His style of play is more suitable for Spanish league than Series A. Italian coaches (Casare Maldini and Marcello Lippi etc) failed to utilise his extraordinary talents. He is a football genius.
